It's New York City, 1922, and young Millie Dillmount from Kansas
has just moved to the big city in search of a new life.
Her grand plan is to find a job as a secretary for a wealthy man and then marry him.
Millie's plan, however, goes completely awry.
The owner of the dingy hotel where she lives kidnaps young girls to sell to the Far East slavery trade.
Her wealthy boss is slow in proposing marriage, despite her attempts.
And the man she actually falls in love with doesn’t have a dime to his name — or so he tells her.
It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz — a time when women were entering the workforce
and the rules of love and social behavior were changing.
Based on the popular 1967 movie, this high-spirited, zany musical
includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.
