Truth on the stage is not quite the truth in life.  It is always more or less than life.

The SCCT Scholarship

Information and Guidelines

The objective of the State College Community Theatre scholarship is to aid a worthy candidate in furthering his or her education and training in the theatre arts.  With this scholarship comes SCCT's hope that the recipient will repay it through his or her contribution to community theatre in the future.

Each year, the State College Community Theatre offers a $1,000.00 scholarship to a Centre County student pursuing a degree in the theatre arts.

To be eligible, each candidate must:

1.  Be a resident of Centre County, Pennsylvania, or be pursuing an education in Centre County

2.  Be currently enrolled in—or be a high school senior accepted to and planning to enroll in—a college, university, or other institution for the purpose of furthering his or her education in any of the theatre arts

3.  Possess a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale

4.  Fill out the application form and submit it to the SCCT Scholarship Committee.

Click here to open the 2010 Scholarship Application Form (pdf).  The deadline for receipt of applications and supporting materials is Tuesday, June 1, 2010.  Applications will be evaluated by a five-member panel comprised of two members of SCCT's Board of Directors and three SCCT members-at-large in good standing.  Incomplete applications will not be considered.
